You can Live Forever, Grandma - A Work In Progress Live Reading

You Can Live Forever, Grandma, written by Alie Rutty, is an absurdist dark comedy about grief, mortality, and agency, that draws us into a world where terminally ill seniors are given the option to become vampires.

Join us for the first live, public reading of this new play on March 21st at 3:45pm. Admission is free! Feedback is welcome!

Thank you to the Toronto Arts Council for their generous support of this work.

Alie Rutty (she/her) is a Toronto-born performer, theatre creator, facilitator, photographer, and interdisciplinary artist. Her work is often experimental, genre-blending, and seeks to forge unsuspecting friendships through various modes of collaboration. She has trained in clown and physical theatre at Sweet Action Theatre, and has also participated in the 48 Hour Film Project (2021-2025), Toronto Fringe TENT program (2023), and Ghost River Theatre's National Devised Intensive (Calgary, 2022). This past October, Alie received a Toronto Arts Council Playwright’s Grant to develop her play, You Can Live Forever, Grandma. Past projects include: Theatre Troupe (2019) - a longform experiment in which 10 people created a theatre piece while improvising in character; and The Allegory of the Basement (2018) - a stop motion animated film about the ritualistic act of rewatching movies. Since 2023, Alie has been a part of The Neighbourhood Follies, a project of devised dance and clown theatre, frequently performing in outdoor public spaces. This summer, The Neighbourhood Follies will be performing at KidsFest at the Toronto Fringe.  Keep up with Alie and her work at www.alierutty.ca
